The One New Man Conference
Israel & The Jewish People through God’s Eyes
The Event
-
The What
A multi-day experience that includes 6 sessions on the topics of Israel & The Jewish People. It begins on Friday evening and includes a 10 - 5 day on Saturday, including a break for lunch. The 6 sessions will be approximately 1 hour each. John Myers will present a solid biblical perspective of the story God is telling to all mankind through the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. Chris Kuehl will address the theological and current cultural pushback to this story with opportunities for Q&A. The perspectives presented in this time together are those of a Jewish believer in Jesus (John) and a gentile Christian (Chris).
-
The Why
Israel and the Jewish people are the central characters in both the Old and New Testaments. Nevertheless, the majority of Christians today do not understand the Israel Story, even though they confess to worship the God of Israel. What is God’s plan, purpose, and destiny for the Jewish people and the nation of Israel? What is God’s plan for the church, primarily made up of Gentiles? What does a mutual shared economy that includes both groups that confess belief in the God of Israel look like? The church has an important part to play and for almost 1,800 year we have not understand this role, at great detriment to the church and the Jewish people.
-
The Now
These and many other questions are challenging the Church right now. Our collective church history, at best, has been one of deep ambivalence towards Jewish suffering, and at worst, has been an instigator of Jewish suffering. We are at an inflection point in the relationship between the Church and the Jewish people. We find ourselves in a unique cultural moment with the church reorganizing it’s thinking around the nation of Israel and the Jewish people. It is with this in mind, that we will declare the story that God is telling about Israel and the Jewish people and examine the questions and challenges that come with this declaration.
The WhO

“John Myers was born and raised in a Reform Jewish family in Williamsport, PA. He was part of the counterculture of the 1960’s, dropping out of numerous universities and colleges, wandering through the Balearic Islands south of Spain, the North Shore of Oahu, and Berkeley, CA, living a life of substance abuse and immorality. In 1972, he became a follower of Yeshua (Jesus). Over the next 20 years, Yeshua led him on a journey from hippy to bank president, from broken, ungodly relationships to the care of a wife and six children. In 1992, John, his wife Dariel, and five of their six children immigrated to Israel and settled in Jerusalem, where John founded and led a congregation of believers in Yeshua. In 2010, John and Dariel returned to the United States to journey through various iterations of what has become The Israel Story. In John’s words, “The Israel Story is a distillation of life lessons learned (often the hard way) walking with Yeshua, upheld by His mercy and grace, and the message God has given me about His plan, purpose, and love for the Jewish people, the nation of Israel, and all of mankind.”

Christopher Kuehl: Chris was born in Boulder, Colorado. He has traveled extensively (over 30 countries) doing both mission-related work and photography. He lived in Israel for many years and returns frequently.
He worked at Sony, and Rolling Stone Magazine as a photographer and has also been a founder of four different technology companies over the last decade. During his first stay in Israel, more than a decade ago, the Lord spoke to him about a bridge that He wanted to build between Israel and the Church. Chris had no idea what this meant at the time or how long it would take to bring to fruition, but a decade later Chris is answering the call to be a part of this bridge. Chris is married to his lovely wife, Justice. They have just welcomed their first son into the world. Besides being the COO of Restore7, Chris is also the founder of Present Witness, an organization that addresses modern theological questions and challenges as it relates to Israel and the Jewish people. He is also currently earning his Masters degree in Theology.
Conference schedule

The Israel Story is God’s story. He conceives it, initiates it, perpetuates it, tells it, and will bring it to a blessed conclusion. He is the Hero of the Israel Story, and through it, His name will be glorified.
-
In this session we have distilled 10 difficult, seemingly contradictory scriptural, theological, and cultural statements about the Jewish people. Our goal is to address the common challenges facing what we believe is a correct understanding of Israel and the Jewish people.
-
The Jewish people had the Land God gave them and the face of God, intimacy with Him. They lost the Land and God hid his face from them due to their sins, yet in this miraculous hour, Israel is being restored to their Land and will be restored to God through faith in their Messiah, Yeshua (Jesus). The Israel Story has a good ending!
-
In this session we will build a framework for Israel over the last 100 years. We will briefly examine the conflict, the challenges this conflict brings for both the Israelis and Palestinians and how this interacts with the postmodern phenomenon of social justice happening in America. Through it all, we will anchor our framework through our understanding of God’s plans and purposes that supersede our cultural moment.
-
Believers in Jesus are warned by the apostle Paul not to be prideful toward the Jewish people who don’t yet share their faith. For two thousand years, many who have professed faith in Jesus have failed to heed this warning with tragic results. In this critical hour, it is essential that the Church embodies God’s love for the Jewish people and stands with Him for Israel’s salvation.
-
We will have a technology system set up that allows the audience to submit questions digitally throughout each of our previous sessions. In session 6 we will attempt to answer these questions.
